We investigated the feasibility of highly branched cyclic dextrin (HBCD) as an excipient matrix in dry powder inhalers (DPIs). The fine particles of HBCD and HBCD/active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) were prepared by spray-drying an ethanol-aqueous solution containing HBCD.
