Parteck® MXP 3-82 (Polyvinyl alcohol)

Description

With a lower degree of hydrolysis along the PVA chain, Parteck® MXP 3-82 polyvinyl alcohol is especially beneficial in forming strong interactions with hydrophobic drug molecules – in the solid state and in solution. Due to this, Parteck® MXP 3-82 excipient has very high capabilities as a precipitation inhibitor and can maintain high levels of supersaturation for physiologically relevant timescales. As a result, Parteck® MXP 3-82 polyvinyl alcohol can provide solubility enhancement for even the most challenging molecules.

Parteck® MXP excipient is part of the Parteck® range of functional excipients developed specifically for solid dose applications. It is a particle-optimized polyvinyl alcohol designed for hot melt extrusion to increase the solubility of poorly water-soluble active pharmaceutical ingredients. Parteck® MXP excipient enables stable and high drug loads and can be used for a broad range of APIs and a variety of final dosage forms. Poor solubility of APIs is a critical challenge in drug development. One formulation technique to address this challenge is hot melt extrusion (HME). Our new Parteck® MXP is a polyvinyl alcohol-based excipient designed for hot melt extrusion to increase solubility and allow for stable and high drug loads for a broad range of APIs. The polymer  has a long safety record related to its usage in drugs and is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Parteck® MXP complies with USP,  Ph. Eur., and JPE monographs.
