DL-Lactide is a cyclic dimer of Lactic acid used as a key monomer for producing poly(DL-lactic acid) (PDLLA) through ring-opening polymerization.
It enables the production of biodegradable polymers with controlled molecular weight and crystallinity, widely used in drug delivery, injectable implants, sutures, and resorbable medical devices.
