Product Overview
METHOCEL™ K100M Premium is a very high molecular weight hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) thickener. It will yield a viscosity of 100,000 cP at 2% in water.
METHOCEL™ K100M Premium is an HPMC thickener with moderate hydroxypropyl substitution.
It is commonly used as a thickener, binder, and suspension aid in applications including adhesives and coatings.
Solutions containing METHOCEL™ K100M are highly thixotropic and thus have good lubricity and are easy to spread.
METHOCEL™ K100M has excellent pH stability in both acidic and alkaline systems allowing formulators more flexibility when modifying rheology.
In addition, METHOCEL K100M in solution will reversibly gel at temperatures above 90°C.
This provides a boost to green strength in ceramics and to adhesives that are heat cured.
Due to it’s high molecular weight METHOCEL™ K100M Premium is a cost efficient thickener for latex paints.
