Biogrund becomes exclusive distributor for Shin-Etsu pharmaceutical excipients in Spain

Huenstetten, 14 October 2025 – Shin-Etsu has selected Biogrund as its new distribution partner for pharmaceutical excipients in Spain. Shin-Etsu is thus expanding its successful collaboration with Biogrund, which began in 2019 and has so far focused on the dietary supplement sector in Europe, to now also include the Spanish pharmaceutical market. Distribution in Spain will commence on 1 January 2026.

Expansion of the proven partnership

Shin-Etsu is one of the world’s leading suppliers of functional excipients for solid dosage forms. With products such as hypromellose (HPMC), hypromellose acetate succinate (HPMC-AS) and low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose (L-HPC), the Japanese company covers a wide range of formulation and coating solutions.

Strong local presence and technical expertise

Biogrund has extensive experience in the development of solid dosage forms and uses Shin-Etsu excipients in its own tailor-made ready-to-use premixes for the tableting and coating of solid oral dosage forms. The company’s application technology laboratory supports pharmaceutical manufacturers in the development of innovative and efficient drug formulations. On site, the Spanish Biogrund team led by Humberto Alea provides direct customer service, fast supply chains and expert technical advice.
