Product Overview

METHOCEL™ E6 Premium LV is a water-soluble cellulose ether polymer that offers a very low viscosity of 6 cP. It is based on high purity, and non-ionic hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) polymer.

Applications

METHOCEL™ E6 Premium LV is a premium quality and low viscosity thickener which can be utilized as a binder, rheology modifier, lubricant, film former, and water retention aid in a number of applications. It is most commonly used in coatings, inks, and ceramics. It can also be used in adhesives and electronics such as batteries and LCD displays.

  • Ceramics: METHOCEL™ E6 Premium LV is used in ceramics when binding and low viscocity are required. It also provides controlled thickening and rheology in ceramics extrusion and casting applications. The product’s low impurity level makes it the best fit for speciality ceramics and electronic applications.
  • Coatings and Inks: METHOCEL™ E6 Premium LV is used as a thickener, protective colloid and pigment suspension aid in coatings and inks. It provides excellent film properties such as high tensile, strength, and elongation. It also improves workability and water retention for construction coatings.
