Since 2018, the pharmaceutical industry has identified several major drug products with nitrosamine levels exceeding acceptable daily intake limits. IFF Pharma Solutions has developed Low Nitrite METHOCEL™, designed to accelerate a seamless transition to the new SKU, helping our partners reduce nitrosamine risks.

Through advanced process controls and leading analytical science, Pharma Solutions limits and measures nitrite levels in the polymer, ensuring each batch contains ≤ 200 ppb nitrite. Known for its consistency and reliability for over 75 years, METHOCEL™ cellulose ethers are the preferred polymers for both controlled release and immediate release pharmaceutical dosages, offering a perfect blend of versatile properties and formulation flexibility.
