Product Description
Silicified Microcrystalline Cellulose(SMCC) is an integrated particle combined with 98% Microcrystalline Cellulose and 2% colloidal silicon dioxide. By co-processing technology, colloidal silicon dioxide is uniformly distributed on surface of MCC particle. Comprecel® SMCC is a highly functional ingredient that solve complex formulation problems and simplify manufacturing process

Improved Compactibility
With SMCC in formulation, less excipient is required and lower compression force is needed to manufacture robust tablets.
The chart shows if we divide hardness increase rate by SMCC, physical blending with MCC and colloidal silicon dioxide, the hardiness increase rate will be 30-50% higher than using M102 only.
Enhanced Flow
The apparent difference in flowability performance between MCC only, MCC and colloidal silicon dioxide physical blending and SMCC is shown in the chart.
Uniform dispersion of colloidal silicon dioxide on MCC particles gives SMCC superior flowability without compromising compactibility.
Less sensitivity to lubrication
When lubricant is added in formulation, the hardness will decrease as mixed time of lubricant and other ingredient goes by. However with SMCC added, the rate of hardness decrease will decline.
The data shows the hardness decrease rate of formulation with SMCC is lower than traditional MCC.
