Croda celebrates opening of expanded UK facility, bolstering global Super Refined™ capabilities

Croda International Plc (“Croda”), the company that uses smart science to create high-performance ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients that improve lives, celebrated the opening of its newly expanded Super Refined™ manufacturing facility in Leek, Staffordshire, UK, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The opening of this expanded facility marks a major step forward and coincides with the recent launch of Super Refined™ Poloxamer 188, a highly purified shear protectant designed for critical applications in cell culture and biopharmaceutical formulations. Attended by industry leaders and site representatives, the opening demonstrated Croda Pharma’s continued evolution and leadership in advancing biologics delivery.

This enhanced capability complements Croda’s established global Super Refined™ manufacturing footprint across Europe, the North America, and Asia, strengthening its ability to supply its broad portfolio of these high-purity excipients to customers worldwide.

Thomas Riermeier, newly appointed President of Life Sciences, who cut the ribbon at the event and joined the site team in celebrating the achievement, commented:
