JRS Integrates “Sustainability Management” Organizational Unit and Completes EcoVadis Rating

JRS has been committed to the responsible use of resources for more than 140 years. As a family business, we feel a special obligation to ensure that future generations can enjoy a future worth living.

Renewable plant-based raw materials and the use of their functional properties form the basis of our products and combine innovation, progress and sustainability. In many cases, our raw materials come from by-products of forestry, agriculture and the food industry and help to reduce waste by converting them into products with added value.

Given the diverse applications of our products, JRS is active in various markets and industries worldwide. This requires a comprehensive understanding of different perspectives and requirements in terms of sustainability. The needs of our customers are highly differentiated and require customized information, both at product and company level.

New “Sustainability Management” Team

The new sustainability management offers the expertise and organizational capabilities to quickly and effectively respond to the specific needs of our business partners.

Internally, the team also has the task of nurturing and expanding our own sustainability strategy, in order to hit our goal and responsibilities for a sustainable future.

Towards a Transparent Sustainability Assessment

As a first step, we opted for the EcoVadis and CDP rating platforms and received independent assessments.

These assessments allow us to better understand our sustainability performance in the areas of the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement in order to derive appropriate improvement measures.

We see these annual reassessments as an impetus for continuous improvement.
