Emulfree® Duo: Finalist at CPHI Award 2022!

Gattefossé Pharmaceuticals´new product Emulfree® Duo has been shortlisted in the category “Finished Formulations”, at CPHI Awards 2022.

Of course, Gattefossé wants to thank all the people at Gattefossé who contributed to this success and enable the launch of this innovative excipient. Beyond that, they want to share this success with pharmaceutical laboratories and patients: with this new excipient, you can innovate with pharmaceutical bi-gels and offer outmost benefits to patients, according to Gattefossé.

Bi-gels consist of an intimate mixture of aqueous and oily gels. Thanks to their dual nature, they are associated with better drug absorption through the skin, and they are suitable for lipophilic and hydrophilic drugs. They are also offering cooling and moisturizing effects as well as improved spreadability.

Emulfree® Duo is a ready-to-use PEG-free system, designed to stabilize the oil phase within the bi-gel, by ensuring its fine and homogeneous dispersion in the aqueous phase. Watch the video to see how easily bi-gels are produced with Emulfree® Duo. The whole process can be carried out at room temperature, ideal for heat sensitive drugs and to minimize production costs.  This excipient is compatible with a wide range of oils, solvents and penetration enhancers, and enables the formulation of a wide range of textures, from light lotions to rich creams, depending on the overall formulation.
